Terms Of Service & Lab Usage Agreement

1. Eligibility And Access

• 1.1 Registration and Booking: All access to the Lab must be scheduled in advance through the official online booking portal. Walk-in access is strictly subject to the discretion of Lab Administration.
• 1.2 Non-Transferability: Your account and booking confirmations are strictly personal. You may not transfer your booking, share your login credentials, or bring unauthorized guests to use the Equipment under your name.
• 1.3 Right to Revoke Access: The Lab reserves the right to refuse service, suspend, or terminate your access at any time, without prior notice, if you violate any provision of these Terms or engage in unsafe conduct.
• 1.4 Age Requirement: Users must be at least 18 years of age to register for an account and independently agree to these Terms. Minors (under 18) must have a parent or legal guardian review and accept these terms on their behalf prior to booking, and may require adult supervision while in the Lab.

2. General Safety And Facility Conduct

• 2.1 Food and Beverage Restrictions: To protect sensitive electronics, absolutely no food, open containers, or liquids are permitted on or near the workbenches. Closed-lid water bottles must be kept on the floor.
• 2.2 Compliance with Staff: Users must comply with all verbal and written instructions provided by the Lab Administrators. Administrators have the final authority regarding safety and equipment usage.
• 2.3 Proper Attire: When operating robotics or working with moving mechanical parts, users must wear closed-toe footwear. Long hair must be tied back, and loose clothing or dangling jewelry must be secured to prevent entanglement in the equipment.
• 2.4 Emergency Procedures: In the event of an electrical short, smoke, or injury, Users must immediately disconnect power (if safe to do so) and notify Lab Administration.

3. Equipment Operation And Care

The Lab provides high-end Edge AI hardware (including but not limited to the Arduino Uno Q, Ventuno Q, and advanced AI Super Starter Kits).

• 3.1 Training and Certification: Certain advanced Equipment may require the User to complete a safety orientation or online certification before use. You agree not to operate any Equipment you are not authorized or trained to use.
• 3.2 Unauthorized Modifications: Users must not permanently modify, solder, cut, or dismantle the provided hardware. Do not force physical connections or overload electrical circuits.
• 3.3 Financial Responsibility for Damage: Normal wear and tear on standard consumable items (e.g., jumper wires) is expected. However, the User is financially responsible for the repair or full replacement cost of any Equipment that is lost, stolen, or damaged due to the User's gross negligence, intentional misuse, or failure to follow instructions.
• 3.4 Consumables vs. Hardware: The Lab may provide limited consumable materials (e.g., solder, specific resistors) for educational use. Users agree not to waste these materials. Taking hardware components (like sensors, motors, or processing boards) out of the Lab without written authorization is considered theft and will be reported.
• 3.5 Accident and Hazard Reporting: Users must immediately report any accident, physical injury, or safety hazard (such as exposed wires or sparking) to the Lab Administration, regardless of how minor it may seem.
• 3.6 Post-Session Clean-up: Upon completing a session, the User must return all Equipment to its original condition and designated storage area. Workstations must be cleared of all personal materials.

4. Flagship Demos And Restricted Zones

• 4.1 Demonstration Hardware: The Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) test track, Smart Mirror installations, and other showcase pieces are primarily for demonstration.
• 4.2 No Tampering: Users may not enter the physical AMR track, handle the robots, or attempt to reprogram flagship demos without explicit, direct supervision from a Lab Administrator.

5. Intellectual Property (IP) And Data Security

• 5.1 Ownership of User Projects: You retain all intellectual property rights to the original code, algorithms, and designs you create while using the Lab, unless specific event/hackathon rules state otherwise.
• 5.2 No IP Infringement: You agree not to use the Lab's Equipment to infringe upon the patents, copyrights, trademarks, or trade secrets of any third party.
• 5.3 Data Wiping and Loss: The Lab is a shared public workspace. Workstation computers are subject to automatic wiping between sessions. You are solely responsible for saving and backing up your data to a personal cloud account or external drive. The Lab is not responsible for any loss of data, code, or personal files.
• 5.4 Network Security: Users may not use the Lab's network to engage in malicious activities, including hacking, distributing malware, crypto-mining, or attempting to bypass the Lab's local security protocols.

6. Prohibited Activities

While using the Lab, you agree NOT to:

• Use the Equipment to design, prototype, or manufacture weapons, weapon accessories, dangerous items, or items that are obscene, illegal, or pose an immediate threat to the well-being of others.
• Use the Equipment to create anything unlawful, explosive, or inherently harmful.
• Use the Lab for unauthorized commercial mass-production or manufacturing.
• Remove any hardware, manuals, or components from the physical Lab premises without written authorization.

7. Assumption Of Risk, Liability, And Indemnity

• 7.1 Assumption of Risk: The User acknowledges that working with electrical components, robotics, and moving mechanical parts carries inherent risks of property damage and personal injury. The User voluntarily assumes all such risks.
• 7.2 Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Lab, Qualcomm, Arduino, and their respective affiliates, officers, and employees shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including lost profits or lost data) arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Lab and its Equipment.
• 7.3 Indemnification: You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Lab, Qualcomm, Arduino, and their affiliates from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Equipment, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Hanoi, Viet Nam.

By checking the "I Agree" box during registration, or by physically accessing the Lab, you acknowledge that you have read this Agreement, understand it, and voluntarily accept its terms.
